This page describes how content on Everyday Solar is researched, written, and maintained.

Research and sourcing

• Claims about UK regulations are based on the legislation itself and official guidance from government and the energy regulator, and we link to those sources.
• Product information comes from manufacturer specifications, applicable safety standards, published test data, and verified owner reviews.
• Savings and payback figures are calculated from stated assumptions - panel output, orientation, UK irradiance data, and current electricity prices - and we show the assumptions alongside the numbers.
• We do not copy other publishers' work. Where another outlet's reporting is the source of a factual claim, we cite and link it.

What we will not do

• We do not claim hands-on testing we have not done.
• We do not publish invented reviews, testimonials, or user stories.
• We do not assert whether a product is in stock at any retailer - availability changes too fast for that to be honest.
• We do not let affiliate commission decide rankings. Products earn their place on evidence, and we recommend products we earn nothing from where they are the better choice.

Reviews and comparisons

Review verdicts weigh documented performance, build quality, safety compliance, warranty, and value at typical UK prices. Comparisons use like-for-like criteria stated on the page. If we have not physically used a product, the review says so plainly and explains what the assessment is based on.

Corrections and updates

Plug-in solar is a fast-moving area: rules are new, guidance is still being published, and prices move. We review high-traffic guides on a recurring schedule and update them when the facts change, marking significant updates with a revised date. If you spot an error, we want to fix it - corrections are applied as soon as they are verified.
